Body odor is an unpleasant smell our body can release when the bacteria that lives on the skin breaks down sweat into acids. Body odor can be a very embarrassing condition because it leaves its victim with less confidence amongst peers and colleague, never the less its very curable in no time.
People who are obese and people who sweat more regularly are usually more prone to having body odor, often their salt level in their sweat is too high for the bacteria to break down, it also depends on the area of the body where the sweating is much.
Body odor is most likely to occur in the following parts of the body:
. arm pits
. feet
. pubic region
. anus
. hair
. the rest of the skin to a lesser extent
CAUSES OF BODY ODOR:
Contrary to the belief that body odor is caused by sweat (which itself is odorless) , it is caused by bacteria (which occurs naturally on the skin) breaking down sweat into acids. It is also caused by excessive dirtiness, diabetes, during puberty, mensuration, kidney and liver disease.
BODY ODOR CAN BE PREVENTED BY:
. Bathing regularly
. Use of deodorants
. Washing of genitals properly with warm water
. Use of feet powder to prevent feet odor
. Taking proper care during mensuration
. Shaving armpits and pubic regions regularly
. Change and wash clothes regularly
Eating spicy food can make body odor worse, reduce eating of too much spicy food and limit coffee and alcohol intake. Try and see the doctor if body odor is persistent or too strong.
